Major drama incoming folks! Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that the former General Hospital co-headwriter Dan O’Connor has now joined DOOL as a scriptwriter! Interestingly, he recently won an Emmy for his previous work as co-head writer on GH. So the timing is really spicy!
In a recent chat with Soap Opera Network, Dan confirmed the news. “I’ve been very fortunate that I joined the team at Days of our Lives,” the mighty pen holder asserted. Furthermore. he added that he is very happy that he gets to continue to work in the genre (soaps) that he loves so much.

Dan even expressed that he is very excited that he now has the opportunity to work alongside Ron Carlivati ( head writer), Katie Schock, and Jamey Giddens. “I’m very, very excited,” he emphasized. DOOL spoilers confirm that he has already started writing for the soap. However, his episodes won’t roll out until the end of January 2025.
Prior to being on ABC’s GH, Dan O’Connor has also written for the iconic One Life To Live. In fact, he even wrote the finale episode of the series. Dan has been the co-head writer of GH since 2019. However, in January 2024, news broke out that both Dan and his co-head writer – Chris Van Atten have been replaced.

Interestingly, GH recently re-hired Van Etten as the soap co-head writer, but no such news came for Dan. And now we know why! It’s because Dan has happily found employment with Days.
