EastEnders Actor Danny Says, ‘It Was Done In Such A Beautiful Way’
EastEnders actor Danny has revisited his favourite from the soap and shared the sweet memories he has on the new unseen episode of The Assembly. He said that the plot in which his son, Johnny, came out as gay is his favourite plot. Dyer added that it was done in a beautiful way.
“Because whatever I represented at the time, being an alpha male or whatever,” he added. Danny further explained that usually when a character on a soap comes out as gay, they eventually kill someone like Ben Mitchell did. He killed Heather.
Dyer further added that the truth is when Johnny came out as gay to him, he said, “Come here, I love you.” He then added that it is very important for him, as he still has so many letters and messages from men who came out the next day. “You can reach people and sort of change their lives, you know what I mean?
It doesn’t happen all the time,” he added. The soap star then explained that soap operas are soap operas for a reason, and most of the time storylines are ‘quiet s**t’. “But now and again you can reach an audience that’s important. So that was probably my favourite,” he added.
