EastEnders’ Michelle’s New Project
EastEnders’ actress Michelle recently announced her new show, Motorhome Marilyn. She will make her Edinburgh Festival debut with this very show. Michelle has been working for more than four decades, and now she has shared how she was not prepared for the fear she might feel before her debut.
Collins said she was terrified and told herself that she did not have to do it. She also spoke about her show. She revealed that the story is based on a woman she came across ages ago in Los Angeles. “It was the strangest sight,” she exclaimed as she saw a woman dressed like Marilyn Monroe coming out of a motorhome.
The actress shook hands with writer Stewart Permutt. She met him during the festival itself. She told how she met him; they planned everything, and then COVID happened. The festival got cancelled, and everything went on hold. Unfortunately, Stewart died last year. But he left the first draft of the show.
She added he was the one who insisted on taking this show to the festival. His name will be there alongside the new writer Ben Weatherill. Collins is truly excited to play the role. She has been visiting Edinburgh quite frequently.
Collin Shares How Excited She Is For The Debut
As she continues to focus on her upcoming debut, she also understands that there is no different treatment for the stars at the fringe. “I’m going to have to do a lot of things to myself; I’ll be doing the get-in, the get-out, and handing out the leaflets,” Collins added. Michelle also added that this will be a place for her to experiment freely.
She mentioned the shows that began in the festival. She adds that she wants her show to be good, brilliant. But she also understands that it is a development process. She further added that she is excited that Motorhome Marilyn is a part of the festival. “Charge on my own destiny,” the actress said.
Tony Lankester, who will debut as the CEO of the festival, has opened up about running an entire festival. He tells how lonely it can be. Whereas he spoke about how he doesn’t take his responsibilities for granted. He added that public bodies tend to take such doorstep events very lightly. Tony assured me that he has confidence in the Fringe Society for such issues. Lankester also spoke about the importance of the audience. “It’s not about the 2.7 million tickets you sell; it’s about the one ticket you sell and one person’s experience of the festival. Because of the festival, that’s what’s important,” he added.
While we can’t wait to see her doing absolutely well with her new show, we hope her debut at the Edinburgh festival turns out to be fabulous. Till then keep reading Soap Opera Daily for more such EastEnders updates and spoilers.
