EastEnders Boss Teases MORE Iconic Returns After BAFTA Win!!

EastEnders celebrated a major victory this weekend. The show won the Best Soap award at the BAFTAs for the second consecutive year. Also, Executive producer Ben Wadey attended the event alongside show ‘legends’ Jessie Wallace, Diane Parish, and Michelle Collins.

Ben Wadey Revives Walford’s Most Iconic Legends

The BBC soap triumphed at the BAFTAs for the second consecutive year. And this, in a true sense, solidifies Ben Wadey’s successful first year as executive producer. Wadey had taken over from Chris Clenshaw, and the soap boss has revitalised the square with some legendary returns.

But seems that’s not enough for viewers, as he also teased that more surprises and iconic faces are on the horizon for fans in the coming weeks. We all saw the shocking return of Zoe Slater after two decades away. Also, her comeback was initiated by Alfie Moon. But soon her character was plunged into a dark underworld as she searched for her long-lost children, Jasmine and Josh. 

Elsewhere, a grown-up Oscar also emerged as a sarcastic anti-hero. And he exactly mirrored his father’s chaotic romantic life through a love triangle with the Slater twins. Also, the villain Chrissie Watts too returned briefly as the glamorous antagonist who initially masterminded a stalking campaign against Zoe.

The return of Max Branning has definitely restored a familiar sense of unpredictability to the show. In fact even a special flash-forward episode has already hinted that he will have a troubled future. Hence, this eventually means that he will be the central figure in the coming year.

Even Ben Mitchell returned briefly to facilitate a final split from Callum. Elsewhere, Sam Mitchell’s homecoming was a part of a sensitive breast cancer storyline. Very recently, the hardman Grant Mitchell returned for the conclusion of Nigel Bates’s dementia plot. And the three siblings, Grant, Phil and Sam, reunited for the first time in ten years.
