Some Familiar Faces Returning For Farewells
The middle of this year brought some significant changes to Albert Square. We saw some iconic faces return and others prepare to depart. After the heartbreaking death of Nigel Bates, several past characters are coming back to pay their final respects. In fact, the Mitchell family recently reunited for this emotional period.
But we also know that some members will leave the Square when their temporary storylines conclude. Also, Nigel’s funeral is a catalyst for the return of Josh Saunders and Clare Bates. Josh will arrive in nearly thirty years to honour his stepfather. Also, actor Jon Lee called it a surreal moment because of the set’s familiarity.
Even Clare Bates will return to finish her father’s dementia narrative after she was absent from Walford for years. Apart from these, the show has confirmed that the villainous Joel Marshall will also return. He will come back after his prison sentence for attacking Vicki Fowler.
There’s one more that fans would be extremely happy for. Stacey Slater fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The actress has promised that her character’s absence in Brazil is only a temporary break from the drama.

The Mitchell family is currently at full strength. However, the reunion will not last forever. Elsewhere, Grant Mitchell has returned specifically to support his friend Nigel. He also wants to reconcile with his estranged son, Mark Fowler Jr. Obviously, fans have shown some positive reception on his arrival.
However, despite that Ross Kemp is only back for a limited stint. Even Sam Mitchell is expected to exit once her breast cancer storyline reaches its end. Despite her story being focused on the importance of early detection, her stay was always meant to be short-term.
