EastEnders CASTS  Hollyoaks Star For Explosive Police Storyline!!

A Hollyoaks star is joining EastEnders for a massive summer storyline. Also, this is exactly the kind of casting news fans love to hear, and the latest actor making the jump to Walford is Matthew James Bailey.

The former Channel 4 favourite is trading the village for the Square to step into the role of a fresh new detective. Well, his unexpected arrival will directly impact Jack Branning’s career. And a major family medical crisis takes over the detective’s life. Keep scrolling to learn more.

Newcomer DC Craig Ingram Arrives In EastEnders To Assist Jack Branning

Hollyoaks favourite Matthew James Bailey is officially joining the cast of the BBC soap for a major summer plot. Well, this police drama kicks off when DC Craig Ingram arrives at the station to assist a stressed colleague.

As we know, Jack Branning has been spending the majority of his time at the hospital supporting his wife, Denise Fox. Denise recently received a terrible diagnosis of ‘acute myeloid leukaemia’. And that aggressive blood cancer requires constant medical treatment.

Because Jack is spending every free hour at the ward, senior bosses begin to notice that the detective is struggling to manage daily paperwork. Hence, DC Craig Ingram steps in to take over the local caseload so the worried husband can focus entirely on the family emergency.

Matthew stated, “Joining EastEnders has been a dream come true. From it being the soundtrack to my childhood, always on in the background at home, to gathering around the TV with my family every Christmas, being able to play even a small part in such an iconic piece of British television is truly surreal.” Show boss Ben Wadye praised the actor saying, “We’re delighted to welcome Matthew to EastEnders, and he has been a fantastic addition to the cast.”

The Actor Transitions To The BBC After A Tragic Departure

Matthew finished a two-year highly popular stint on Hollyoaks. He played charismatic Ethan Williams on the Channel 4 program for three dramatic years. He also participated in multiple stories, including kidnapping Darren Osbourne and starting a famous romance with Sienna Blake.

EE/Mathew played Ethan Williams on Hollyoaks.

Elsewhere, we also saw Ethan hilariously serenading Sienna using mimed vocals in the middle of the village. However, the fun times ended in tragedy when he met a gruesome demise at the wedding venue.

Sienna brutally pushed the new husband off a high balcony before the couple officially got married. Meanwhile, are you excited to see the new actor taking on the streets of Walford? Let us know in the comments section. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates keep following Soap Opera Daily
