Clair’s Powerful Advocacy For Body Positivity
The lovely Clair Norris has spoken beautifully and powerfully about body positivity in her Instagram post. The actress wants her to be an inspiration to every ‘plus-size’ woman out there. And what an incredible way Clair has found to reach out to her supporters.
Standing in a purple dress right in the middle of a lavender field she wrote, “Not every plus-size person wants to lose weight.” In fact, Clair captioned her post by opening up about her personal mission writing, “I want to be the person I needed growing up.”
The magazine in which her article is posted delved deeply into her eight years playing Bernadette Taylor on Albert Square and how she handled the cruel childhood bullies. Adding further, the actress wrote, “If you’ve ever felt unseen because of your size, this is your reminder: you deserve to be here, exactly as you are…”
In fact, many of her former co-stars from the BBC soap also reacted to her post. Aaron Thiara who plays Ravi Gulati, dropped heart emojis, while Maisie Smith wrote, “Beautiful inside & out.” Elsewhere, Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater said, “Beautiful.”
Clair Shined During Her Time In EastEnders
Many of the fans also thanked her for standing up as a wonderful role model for plus-size women. A user said, “The purple dress is lovely. I would like to thank you for speaking out. You are speaking for all of us who are trying to be confident. Nobody should feel uncomfortable in their own skin.” Another shared, “That mag should be thanking you for allowing them to feature you! You are beautiful, Clair.”
Clair played Bernie Taylor on the BBC soap. And her departure last year marked the end of an era for the Taylor family. Bernie was the last remaining member on the Square. In her last storyline, viewers learned that Berne was stealing from the Panesar family after she had control of their accounts following Nish Panesar’s death.
Elsewhere, Suki and Ravi had exposed her as the thief. However, Bernie justified her action, saying she was owed the money. Later, she and her cousin Felix Baker fled Walford together with a huge amount of the Panesar’s money. Norris was axed as a part of a cast shake-up.
