Nicola Faces A Dark Family Secret
Spoilers reveal that Nicola Mitchell has learned that the villainous Eddie Knight is trying to reach out to George. Later, George is focused on their premature daughter, Ivy. Taking this opportunity, Nicola secretly visits the hospital to confront his adoptive father. However, what she learns leaves her stunned.
Eddie reveals he has a terminal diagnosis. And hence, he begs for a final chance to speak with his son. We all saw that Nicola had recently returned home from the hospital with baby Ivy. In fact, she was struggling with the pressure of new motherhood. And soon, her anxiety reached a breaking point during a welcome home party. She quickly ordered her supportive neighbours to leave.
Later, Gina Knight tried to pressure her. However, soon Nicola found several missed calls on George’s phone. And she soon believed that the hospital was trying to contact them about Ivy. However, she was horrified to find Eddie Knight on the other end instead. This man had previously traumatised George by murdering his biological father, Henry Asare. Also, George did witness this crime when he was only a young child.
Hence, Nicola wanted to deal with the situation herself by visiting the hospital ward. That’s where she finds a weakened Eddie. He then confesses that he is soon gonna die of lung cancer. Hence, he wants to settle his affairs.
George’s Moral Dilemma Begins In EastEnders
When Eddie pleads to make things right, Nicola is left in an impossible position. She even reminds him that the killer whom George testified against and wants no further contact. But the news of his terminal illness is something that keeps bothering her. Despite her anger, she has to think whetherGeorge deserves to know that his adoptive father is near death.
Initially, Nicola keeps the meeting a secret. However, in the upcoming scenes, George will eventually stand at Eddie’s bedside. Now, the main question is: Does Eddie truly seek forgiveness?
