The BBC soap is preparing to bring back one of its most notorious villains. The serial killer Gray Atkins is slated for a ‘bombshell’ return to the screen. We know that it’s been four years since his terror ended. However, the domestic abuser will likely make a cameo appearance from behind bars.
Toby-Alexander Smith’s character had first arrived seven years ago. At first, he appeared as a successful solicitor and devoted family man. However, soon his facade broke, revealing a monster. Gray had subjected his wife, Chantelle, to horrific physical and emotional torment. In fact, this ‘harrowing’ domestic abuse storyline resulted in Chantelle’s death six years ago. And it happened after she tried to escape his control.
Also, as he spiralled further, he claimed the life of Tina Carter to protect his secret. Later, Gray even murdered Kush Kazemi by pushing him in front of a moving train. Four years back, his crimes were eventually exposed during a showdown.
Hence, he was given a life sentence. In fact, his children were scattered across the globe. Elsewhere, we haven’t often heard about the murderer since his incarceration. However, the victim’s family is still haunted by his presence.

The upcoming cameo will have significant repercussions for Chelsea Fox. She is currently raising their young son, Jordan. We saw that the police carted off Gray Atkins. However, since then Chelsea has struggled to move past the trauma of her marriage to a killer. Hence, now that he suddenlty will suddenly reappear, it could prove to be dangerous for her.
