Denise’s Diagnosis Is Sidelined After Jordan’s Tragic Car Accident
The emotional storyline intensified after Denise was diagnosed with AML. It’s a dangerous form of blood cancer that was discovered after Denise’s prolonged battle with severe lethargy.
Elsewhere, medical consultants strongly advised her to undergo immediate chemotherapy to maximise survival odds. Initially, the patient confided only in Yolande Trueman. But unfortunately an unexpected family disaster struck the Square.
Her young grandson Jordan Fox was hospitalised with critical injuries after a hit-and-run accident caused by a drunk Ian Beake. Hence, Denise decided to abandon her own health needs to support a distraught Chelsea Fox. However, Jack Branning eventually learnt the truth and attended a crucial hospital consultation.
But Denise didnt want to spend a full month isolated on a specialised ward so she rejected the life-saving treatment. That’s when she chose to ignore persistent phone calls from Walford General Hospital staff.

Meanwhile, an impromptu family gathering was organised at The Queen Vic pub. It was organised to celebrate Kim Fox’s surprise engagement to Howie Danes.
Later despite the joyous atmosphere and a flashy new ring, Chelsea noticed that her mum is completely distracted and emotionally detached from the festivities. Elsewhere, a desperate Jack wanted to seek external guidance to save his partner’s life. Hence, he turned to Phil Mitchell for urgent backup.
But a stubborn Denise warned him to stay out of her private medical affairs. Later, the pressure peaked when a loving karaoke speech from Kim caused Denise to flee to the public toilets in a flood of tears. Even Chelsea followed the distressing sounds of sobbing to the cubicle door.
