Ross’s life has turned upside down in the BBC soap. His son, Joel Marshall, had attacked Ross’s love, Vicki Fowler. After that, Vicki had to be admitted to the hospital in a critical state. When Vicki learnt that Ross knew about his son’s evil deeds, she ended things with him. What Joel did had broken their relationship.
Now, Ross has to deal with his situation as Joel has been behind bars and Vicki is no more a part of his life. He still thinks that Ross and Vicki are genuinely in love. The storyline focuses on how a child’s toxic traits can even become a problem for their parents.
On the other hand, Ross feels he is out of his depth as a parent. Ross is unable to understand Joel’s behaviour, which is amplified by exposure to social media. Alex even explained that his character is not technically savvy. He fails to understand the repetitive nature that Joel engages with. Ross tried his best to manage the situation. However, it was devastating for Vicki and his relationship.
Now Joel is in detention. But there is no full stop to Ross’s troubles. He is in deep pain because he failed to protect Vicki while he was trying to shield his son. Elsewhere, he is now doubting his abilities as a father and a partner.

Not only is Ross’s personal life in turmoil, but he is also finding it difficult to find stability in Walford. Alex teased that there could be chances for Ross to remain in The Square. He could be involved in local work and community life.
Also, as Ross is a builder, he has connections. So he could make use of this opportunity to appear in upcoming storylines. Ross is also trying every inch to reconcile with Vicki.
