EastEnders Iconic Mitchell Sisters Reunited Off-Screen
Fans of the BBC soap were blessed when their favourite duo broke the internet with a ‘reunion’ post. Rita Simons teamed up with Samantha Womack to share a smiling selfie on Instagram.
In fact, Rita also joked about performing her signature trick to stop Sam from sneezing. Well, we say that it’s a joke that still brings joy after 20 years. Also, the second slide, a candid street view of Samantha laughing and waving at the camera, features. Earlier in the day, Rita also shared an early-morning car selfie, with Rita posing with a finger to her lips.
After which, many fans assumed, as always, that something was cooking up, maybe a brief soap return? Well, we are not sure about anything for now. The post caption read as, “Forgot this one from yesterday..but MUCH more importantly…swipe to see me performing my ‘stop @samzjanus sneezing trick which still brings me more joy than it should even after 20 years.”
Several fans also reacted warmly to the post with one saying, “Love that you two are still so close.” Another shared, “Time for a Ronnie and Roxy resurrection or maybe even a spin off.” Meanwhile, a third wrote, “The dup who should have never left the Square,” while someone else mentioned, “Aww Ronnie and Roxy, two legends miss you both on EastEnders.”
Rita And Samantha’s Final Stint On The Soap
Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell saw their end during the iconic, controversial double death on New Year’s Day. The sisters died hours after Ronnie’s second wedding to Jack Branning. After celebrating, the two sisters shared a bottle of champagne.
Later, when they found the hotel’s closed swimming pool, a drunk Roxy jumped in. And she suffered a cardiac arrest when she hit the cold water. Soon, even Ronnie jumped in to save her, wearing a heavy wedding dress, but failed. This way both the sisters met their end on Ronnie’s wedding day.
