Diane Parish has completed 20 years as Denise this week. The actress first played the character on May 11, exactly twenty years ago. And now, Diane has shared a post ‘thanking’ fans for supporting her during her time on the soap. In fact, BBC Three will also air a special night of classic episodes to celebrate its history.
Meanwhile, even after two decades, the actress is still a core member of the current cast. And the ‘icing on the cake’ was that EastEnders took home the Best Soap award. Elsewhere, Diane Parish joined Jessie Wallace and Michelle Collins to collect the prize. The actress captioned her post saying, “She’s had and is having a wild and bumpy ride, my girl, but I have never loved playing a character as much as I love her. She’s flawed, she’s brash, she’s loving, she’s kind, she’s naughty, she’s mouthy and she’s loyal.”
Adding further, the actress wrote, “Every day is a day to be grateful, and the privilege of working with people I now think of as family is the greatest. I sincerely love them all: cast, crew, and production. But mainly, she wouldn’t still be on your Telly box if you didn’t enjoy watching, so thank you, guys, from the bottom of my heart and for all your wonderful messages. I’m in the best show in the country, in my humble opinion.”
And of course, her co-stars filled the comments section with love. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey wrote, “Love you ever so much”, while Richard Blackwood said, “Yes, Jedi!! They’re not ready.” Elsewhere, Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell, wrote, “Love you sooooo much. Happy 20 years, Denise Fox.
