EastEnders Star Tracey-Ann Takes On A Historic Gender-Swapped Stage Role
The actress is starting a theatre job after her brief Christmas appearance as Chrissie Watts on the BBC soap. Also, the actor who starred in Friday Night Dinner will take the lead in a famous comedy play directed by Lindsay Posner.
The comedy play is called ‘Present Laughter’ and was originally written by Noel Coward. As we know Tracey previously won lots of praise for playing a female Shylock in The Merchant of Venice. And now, she makes history as the very first woman to play the main character, Geri Essendine.
And the funny plot follows the main character trying to get ready for a big tour of Africa. But suddenly, a chaotic group of people create massive problems before the travel date.
Later, Geri gets surrounded by a long-suffering secretary, an estranged husband an obsessed young playwright, and many people wanting to become lovers. Well, the audience can see the show star at the Theatre Royal Bath from late August to early September.
A Massive Group Of Actors Joins The Theatre Tour Across The Country
Many famous performers are joining Tracey for the travelling production. James Dreyfus and Adrian Lukis are also locked into the main team. They will play the characters named Monty and Len.
The rest of the big cast includes Richenda Carey as Lady Saltburn, Seb Carrington as David Stillington, Eva Feiler as Rosina Maule and Gabriella Foley as Miss Erikson. Elsewhere, more actors like Charlotte Randle, Jonathan Tafler, Perry Williams, and Kit Young finish the lineup.
Elsewhere, fans saw Chrisie return to the soap on Christmas last year. It was also revealed that she was the one who plotted from the shadows to torment Zoe Slater. She had worked alongside her hidden daughter, Jasmine.
And in her final episodes, she brought back her former flame, Jake Moon. Soon, the two had reunited and fled together to escape from the police.
