EastEnders star James Bye recently said goodbye to the soap when his character Martin died tragically in the aftermath of an explosion. His exit made all the viewers and fans sad.
But the good news is that he has already landed a new role. He will soon be seen playing Mr Darcy in a production of Death Comes To Pemberley from May 1 to June 28. Now he has treated his fans with a new look. He was seen in a completely different look at a red-carpet event in London.
The soap star attended the Thunderbolt premiere on April 22, 2025, alongside his wife, Victoria, in Leicester Square. His new look is indeed completely different from Martin Fowler with his fresh beard look. His sideburn game is indeed on point and sharp. His new project is a novel that was released back in 2011 by P.D. James. This story continues Austen’s 1813 super hit Pride and Prejudice. Last month her wife took to her social media to inform his fans about his new gig.
James Bye Opens Up About His Exit
Speaking of Martin Fowler, he died back in February during the 40th anniversary celebration, when there was an explosion at the Vic. The actor then said that it was the right time, according to him, to exit the soap after 10 long years.
“It’s an honour to leave on a story of this magnitude,” he added. James then thanked everyone for showering so much love on Martin and said that this would not be what it is without its fans. He further thanked the BBC and the whole team for trusting him with Martin for so long.
“This fruit and veg man will always hold a special place in my heart,” Bye added. James then added that it is time for him to look forward, and he is very excited to see what the future holds for him.
