Grant Mitchell tried to play the protective father, but it has backfired spectacularly. In fact, with Grant’s next move Mark Fowler is now in a more precarious position than ever. The hardman wanted to use his legendary reputation to settle his son’s underworld troubles. However, he instead has reignited a decades old grudge with a ruthless enemy.

Even though Phil and Mark had warned him, Grant decided to take matters into his own hand. He confronted the dangerous Russell Delaney at The Boxing Den. But the meeting took a personal turn when Delaney recognised the Mitchell hardman as a figure from his past. He was the man who had once ‘slept’ with his wife. 

And soon the professional negotiation turned into a brutal physical scrap. Before things could turn lethal, Phil Mitchell was forced to break up. However, the crime boss was not intimidated. In fact, he was furious with Grant’s arrogance. That’s when Russell gives an ultimatum to Grant and asks him to pay double the amount of Mark’s past debt. In fact, he gives only a week to repay the loan.

When Mark learns the news that his debt has doubled, he is left reeling. He has already exhausted his options with Lauren Beale and the car lot. Hence, the pressure to find sixty thousand pounds in just seven days has reached a breaking point.

Earlier, Vicki had suggested turning to Phil. However, it was revealed that Nigel Bates’ recent funeral and care costs have significantly drained his immediate resources. Hence, now the young man feels completely isolated and vulnerable to the gang’s threats. 

And it’s quite evident that Russell has been targeting the family out of spite for Grant. That’s what this situation is no longer just about money, it’s about survival. Grant’s desperate need for redemption will cost Mark his life.  But the question is: Will Mark be able to arrange funds for his debts?
