After Mark failed to assassinate Ravi Gulati, he was left with a massive debt to his former associate. Initially, Phil managed to buy some freedom. However, now the financial pressure has forced Mark into desperate acts involving the local car lot and family members.
Next, the troubled youngster tried to manipulate Lauren Beale. He staged a heroic rescue from a mugger to gain her confidence. After finding this newfound trust, the plan involved funnelling stolen vehicles through her legitimate business to raise quick cash.
However when police interest grew, his deception collapsed. Hence, he was forced to admit the truth behind the dodgy cars. Later, in a calculated move, the mother of baby Jimmy was even offered a cut of the profits to fund expensive nursery fees. Initially, Lauren got tempted by getting money easily. However, she soon rejected the offer.
Later, an attempt to smooth things over occurred when a car deal involving Alfie Moon went wrong. However, the clock is still ticking on the original debt. So, the former gangster is sweating over his rapidly diminishing options.

Grant then turns to Lauren for advice. However, she echoed Sam’s suggestion to approach Grant for help. But Mark gets pissed off when he sees his father flirting with Linda Carter. And this was enough for both of them to clash publicly.
