Ian And Elaine Clash
Walfrod is heading to the polls next week. And the race for local councillor has descended into a spiteful battle of dirty tactics. Both Ian and Elaine have been desperate for the win. However, the influence of newcomer Bea Pollard pushes the rivalry too much. Hence, Ian will face the fallout of a viral smear campaign.
On the election day, Ian is anxious as predictions suggest Elaine is the clear favourite. Hence, he becomes ‘desperate’ to regain his seat on the council. Also, when Ian initially tried to bribe neighbours for the votes, it backfired spectacularly. Elsewhere, Bea is eager to be on the arm of a powerful local figure.

Hence, she seizes the opportunity and proposes a spiteful solution: a viral smear campaign designed to discredit Elaine. At first, Ian dismisses the idea, calling it unnecessary. However, his humiliation during the final debate proves to be the breaking point. To put Ian off, Oscar swaps his speech in the final campaign debate.
But Elaine shows grace by helping him get through his presentation. But fueled by embarrassment, he gives Bea the green light to post an incriminating clip of Elaine online. The next morning, the voters are focused on the damaging footage rather any political manifestos.
Ian Feels Guilty In EastEnders
Soon, Ian feels guilty for his betrayal. Later, Elaine visits Beale’s Eels to wish him luck for the final 24 hours of the campaign. However, he is all drowned in guilt. He even tries to have Bea take the video down. But it’s too late as Cindy who never misses drama, ensures Elaine is put in the picture.

And when the public begins to cast their ballots, Elaine and Ian have a fiery confrontation. When votes are being counted, Ian realises that a win achieved through Bea’s vicious video would leave a bitter taste.
Will Ian’s resilience to Bea’s manipulative advice secure his political comeback? Or did he just hand Elaine the ultimate sympathy vote? For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
