EastEnders star Shona McGarty is all set to make her comeback to Albert Square. She took an exit from the soap last year. EastEnders Actress Shona Returns For 40th Anniversary Celebration
EastEnders actress Shona McGarty recently came back to the soap. She was seen as a guest appearance during the 40th anniversary drag cabaret celebration of the BBC’s soap. Well, the pictures say it all; that was truly “a chaotic, camp, and utterly unhinged drag cabaret tribute” for 40 years of London’s most iconic soap.
The Clamp Grand was transformed into the Queen Vic. London’s best drag and cabaret artists were a part of this celebration, including major legacy characters like Sharon Watts and Pat Butcher.
They recreated some of the most scandalous yet intense storylines from EastEnders. Even the famous Queen Vic was brought to life during the show. There were interesting activities organised for the audience, like the ‘legendary prize’ for the best EastEnders-themed costume. And a charity was also organised which benefitted the East London Out Project. Well, it seems that another show is in the making. But it is hard to say if Shona will be a part of the upcoming show.
Whitney’s Heartbreaking Exit From The Soap
Whereas Shona exited the soap after sixteen years. Her character, Whitney Dean, left Walford when her partner, Zack Hudson, cheated with her bestie, Lauren Branning. She also ended relations with her mother, Bianca, as she also knew it and kept it a secret from her. Over the course of the period, she was a major part of some intense plots. She has been part of a sexual assault plot where she was assaulted by her own stepfather, Tony.
While she starred in a play named 2:22 A Ghost Story, after leaving. Shona completely left the soap and revealed that she is up for a respiring role in the soap. She told The Sun, “I’ve got a really good relationship with EastEnders; the doors are open but at the moment not yet.” As of now, it does not seem to be happening anytime soon.
