EastEnders star Linda Henry and Danny Dyer are all set to make a comeback together with their new gig. The legendary actress started playing Shirley Carter back in 2006 and took an exit from the show when it was said that Mick Carter had possibly died in 2022. After almost three years of their exit, it seems that their fans will finally be able to see them back together on the TV screens. Keep reading to know more details.
EastEnders’ Linda and Danny’s New Gig
EastEnders fans have been missing one of the soap’s most iconic duos—Shirley and Mick—since they left the soap back in 2022. The fans were eager to know if they’d ever see them together on screen. It seems that their wish has been granted, as the pair will soon be together for their brand-new gig.
In July, both actors will be seen on the series Sky’s Mr Bigstuff alongside other soap stars. The series started last year and follows the story of two poles-apart brothers who have been distant for years.
Danny was recently nominated at BAFTA for the very first time for his role as Lee Campbell. He was accompanied by Ryan Sampson and Glen. Speaking to Metro, Danny said that all the characters are very loveable, and you can go wherever you want to with them. They are flawed too and have their own issues.
“But I think this is just the beginning of this, and I’m very intrigued to see what Ryan comes up with next. No pressure”!” he added. Speaking of Linda, she will be seen playing a “no-nonsense, hands-on-mechanic” Pam.
Fans Are Thrilled To See The Duo Back
Moving further, actor Shaun Williamson, who played the fan favorite Barry Evan will be seen in the soap as a guest star. He will be playing the role of children’s entertainer in episode number five. Corrie’s Rula Lenska will be a part of the series. She will play Rita, a peculiar woman, who is suspected to be connected to the brother’s father.
The list does not end here; another Coronation Street favorite will be seen on the series. Shobna Gulati, who will play Sunita Alahan. Fans seem to be really thrilled by the news. One of them wrote, “I honestly did not think we’d ever be seeing her again.”
Another viewer added, “I genuinely stopped in my tracks and thought this was a Shirley Carter return first look.” “Linda Henry is still acting,” another fan wrote in excitement. Adding to the excitement, another viewer penned, “The fact our Shirl will be back on our screen – omg, I’ve missed her. I will have to tune in.”
It is very clear that the fans can’t keep their calm and are super excited to see Danny and especially Linda back. But will they ever return back to BBC’s soap as Mick and Shirley? Maybe. Until then, keep reading Soap Opera Daily for more such EastEnders updates and spoilers.
