Viewers reflect that Aunt Babe has very few ties in the Square besides Linda, Johnny and Ollie. According to many, her return might feel empty to long-time viewers.
And those in support of her return want to see her target Linda for the family’s total downfall. We all know that the character had an evil nature. Despite that fans highly praise Annette Badland’s acting skills. In fact many still associate her with roles in Doctor Who and Ted Lasso, proving her range as an actress. People still love to hate the trouble she caused during her years in Walford.
Long-time viewers might remember that Babe’s illegal scheme led to the Carters being hit with a huge fine. With this, the family was nearly bankrupt and had put Mick at risk of prison. Later when her sister taunted her, she took the woman to a canal and abandoned her in the pouring rain. But luckily, Sylvie survived and returned to expose her.
Later, Mick caught Babe stealing from the pub safe to pay off her own fines. That’s when Mick threw her out of The Queen Vic. But before leaving, the evil woman delivered an innocent curse on the Carter family. She said, “I curse you, I curse the lot of you, I hope you lose everything and your precious pub!”
