EastEnders alum Melissa Suffield is earning massive praise. She completely ditched heavy glam for a recent red carpet appearance. In fact, the star skipped foundation, fake tan, and shapewear. All we can say how free and happy she felt making this body-positive choice. Meanwhile, will her refreshing honesty inspire other celebrities? Keep scrolling to learn more.
Melissa’s Natural Red Carpet Look
Beloved Melissa Suffield walked the BAFTA red carpet in a bright outfit. And what ‘stood out’ to fans was that the actress didn’t use any heavy makeup for the event. She revealed her true face and facial creases for the evening. Melissa shared a photo showing her glamorous look
From the star’s post, we can assume that she wants to break down unrealistic beauty standards for mothers on social media. Melissa captioned the post saying, “Today, I tried something new too, we went foundation-free. I relied on my real skin-texture, lines, creases, imperfections. For a red carpet, I wouldn’t usually dream of it; it would be thick, heavy glam to try and look as flawless as possible, but it’s not me. No foundation, no fake tan, no Botox, no teeth whitening, and certainly no shapewear.”
Adding further she said, “I actually felt so free and happy being more natural, highly recommend it once in a while! Maybe I’ll risk a fully bare face next time? My Korean skincare regime is really doing so much heavy lifting lol.”
Several fans also reacted to her post with one saying, “You looked amazing. Don’t need the fake tan etx good on you for showing women they can be themselves and still shine.” Another added, “Looking gorgeous. That colour on you.” Elsewhere, a third commented, “I got the colour wrong but you looked sensational.”
Melissa’s Final Stint On EastEnders
Melissa played Lucy Beale on the BBC soap. One fine day, Lucy’s lifeless body was found on Walford Common. And before her death, she had built a long list of enemies due to her drug use, her affair with Max Branning, and business rivalry with her father, Ian Beale.
Finally, after months of investigation, a special live anniversary week exposed the culprit. Lucy was murdered inside the family home by Bobby Beale. He had hit her over the head with a heavy jewellery box. And to protect young Bobby, Jane wrapped Lucy in a blanket. She even drove her to Walford Common.
Later, she also dumped the body to make it look like a random mugging gone wrong. Meanwhile, what do you think about Melissa’s natural look? Let us know in the comments section. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates keep following Soap Opera Daily.
