George and Nicola prepare to celebrate baby Ivy’s traditional Ghanaian naming ceremony next week. However, George’s villainous adoptive father’s arrival shatters the family’s peace. We all know he has a history as a convicted murderer and racist. However, now Eddie reveals that he is dying and wants to move into the couple’s house immediately.
Elsewhere, Nicola is secretly drowning in debt due to her struggling business, Harry’s Barn. Hence, the new mum has struck a dangerous bargain with Eddie. In fact, the dying man has promised a life-saving injection of cash in exchange for a place to stay. But Harry Mitchell nearly catches her. That’s when she confesses the living arrangements to George. However, she still hid the financial motivation.
Even George is hesitant as he had disowned his father for the brutal murder of his biological dad. However, when Nicola puts pressure, he is forced to compromise and the terminal patient moves into their basement flat. Also, this decision is a secret from the rest of the clan until the villain interrupts Ivy’s ceremony.
Nicola’s Financial Desperation In EastEnders
Later, the situation escalates when Eddie pulls Nicola aside to change the terms. He refuses to pay unless he lives in the main house. Now, Nicola starts to panic with this ultimatum as she reviews her failing cash flow.
She is also aware that George is adamant about keeping his father downstairs. Elsewhere, Harry feels the weight of the betrayal. Hence, he begs his mother to cancel the deal after seeing how badly it has upset Gina Knight.
However, despite Harry’s pleas, Nicola is firm on her decision. She believes that money is the only way to prevent the club from collapsing. Later, even a warning from Cindy Beale fails to deter George from helping his father during his final days.
