Hence, this will force a long-overdue reunion for the Mitchell siblings and a race against time, which leaves the family’s future in trouble.
It all happened when Mark Fowler Jr was concerned over Phil’s deteriorating mental health. Hence, he calls Grant and asks him to return. That’s when the hardman makes a sudden return to the Square. Also, Ross Kemp notes that Grant is very desperate to see his son and build a relationship with him.
However, his arrival isn’t the heroic homecoming he imagined. In fact, he was given a cold reception from the family. Later, tension escalates when Grant visits Nigel and is heartbroken by his condition. Hence, he lashes out at Phil for abandoning his best friend in a care home. And soon, the brothers race back to the care home. Luckily, they arrive just in time for an emotional farewell. Nigel manages to hold on until his best friend is by his side. And after Phil arrives, he slips away peacefully.
However, Phil’s pain leaves both Grant and Linda terrified that history is about to repeat itself. Maybe it’s a hint that we will see his potential relapse or a total mental health collapse.
