Lauren Branning was one of the many Walford residents impacted by Peggy’s club crush last month, reveal EastEnders Spoilers. Viewers know this took place after Chelsea messed up the booking system, furious at Penny for stealing her job. This led to people buying more tickets even though the event was at full capacity, leading to a club crush.
There were several locals who suffered the repercussions of Chelsea’s sneaky moves and one of them was Lauren. Once Lauren found a locked office door, she managed to break into it and found a way out. Just as the door opened, Lauren saw Cindy unaware that she was continuing her affair with Junior in that room. Lauren got trampled on and sustained injuries, with her still recovering now.
Last week, we witnessed Lauren crying and clutching her side as her boyfriend, Peter, urged her to rest. She then admitted that she cannot do this much without needing to take painkillers. She kept saying she was fine, but it was clear, weeks on from the incident, she was not. This whole painkillers issue has raised eyebrows and viewers have speculated that Lauren might become a part of an addiction storyline soon.

Some of the fans took to social media and wrote, “When the pain starts again, we’ll give you more – anyone else seeing a prescription painkiller addiction in Lauren’s future?!” While another wondered, “Painkiller addiction definitely and with her liver from drinking i don’t think it’s the best move.” This also comes after the Lauren actress Jacqueline Jossa dropped hints at a major new storyline for her character.
