When it comes to playing dirty and dark, no one is left behind in the soapverse, tease EastEnders spoilers. In the coming weeks, viewers will see Reiss Colwell getting himself into serious trouble. It seems like in order to get out of one problem, he will start digging bigger holes.
Regular viewers know that Reiss is facing severe financial troubles and is trying to find quick fixes for them. But that wouldn’t be very simple—or will it be? Reiss actor Jonny Freeman recently spoke about his character’s storyline. Let’s dive into what he had to say!
Reiss Colwell Actor Opens About His Storyline On The Soap
EastEnders spoilers for this week reveal that Reiss will be playing with fire. He will have his hands full as his money problems snag a hit, and he needs to pay for Debbie’s home care, or she will be moved out of the place.
Reiss actor Jonny Freeman, while discussing this storyline with Metro.co.uk, said, ‘He’s (Reiss Colwell) scrambling around, but he’s optimistic that it’s all going to work out, I think there’s optimism, but also naivety, and obviously as things start to creak and crumble, Reiss starts to realise that he’s doing things for desperate measure.’ He also explained how his character might be losing a sense of morality while dealing with Debbie and Sonia.

In order to deal with his financial troubles, Reiss plans to scam the Walford businesswoman and lie to her about an outstanding VAT receipt. ‘Sharon explains how much she values Reiss’ support and notes how highly Keanu regarded him, and how his faith in Reiss secured him the job,’ Jonny revealed.
Even though Reiss hates doing this but then realises that he has no other option but to continue to scam her, the actor added. The spoilers suggest that Sharon will agree to clear the bills but problems will arise when Phil Mitchell begins asking questions from Reiss.
To this, Freeman mentioned, ‘He’s terrified. Sharon implicitly trusts Reiss, but Phil is going to take much more convincing so his perceived simple plan has just got a whole lot more difficult.’

While speaking to the publication at the Radio Times Soap Awards, the popular actor said his character is under severe pressure. Although he wants to do his best, his situations are supportive of him.
‘I think anything that could go wrong for him is going wrong for him, and he’s scrambling around. I’m sure if you could see his legs under water they’d be going like the Clappers!’ he concluded.
