A former BBC soap star with a heavy heart has announced the passing of her rescue dog, Sandy. Gurlaine shares an emotional post on her Instagram revealing what the loyal companion meant to her.
The actress recalls the first meeting with Sandy outside a hotel in India, where the poor pup was lying hungry and tired in the mud. Also, Guraline beautifully calls Sandy her “warrior girl” and soulmate, asking her to give her other late dog, Cady a kiss up there.
Gurlaine mentioned that Sandy taught her true resilience, showing immense love and loyalty every single day. In fact, whenever the actress feels like giving up, Sandy will be the first thought in her mind to keep her going.
The actress ended the post saying, “To the strongest, sweetest, most loyal, and most loving girl: I love you. I’ll miss you more than I can ever explain. Give Cady a kiss for me up there. We’re soulmates in this life, and the next. Goodnight, my warrior girl. Be by my side forever.”

Gurlaine had taken a mutual decision with the soap bosses to step away from the BBC soap as she wanted to explore other television opportunities. However, her character, Ash Panesar, is still alive and working as a doctor overseas, leaving the door open for her potential return.
During his final weeks, her parents, Nish and Suki tried to manipulate her career. Ash had received a high-profile medical promotion to work as a doctor in Canada. However, the parents worked behind her back to sabotage the opportunity.
They even pressured her to reject the offer and stay at the local surgery. Initially, Ash rejected the job to please her parents but Suki later felt guilty. Hence, secretly coordinated a plan to convince Ash to reverse her decision and flee Walford. That’s when Ash packed her bags for the airport and left for Canada.
