EastEnders Alum Joins UK Tour Of The Talented Mr Ripley
Maisie Smith is taking her next bold step this time to the stage. The actor, who played Tiffany Butcher on and off from 2008 to 2022, has joined the cast of The Talented Mr Ripley for its first-ever UK tour.
She stars opposite The Crown’s Ed McVey, who plays the lead role of Tom Ripley. Maisie takes on the role of Marge Sherwood, made famous by Gwyneth Paltrow in the 1999 film and more recently by Dakota Fanning in Netflix’s limited series. Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel, now marking 70 years, inspired this stage version. The team calls the play a gripping and thrilling take on the story, with Smith and McVey set to perform through the end of 2025.
The Talented Mr Ripley Tour Opens This September.
It all begins on 4 September at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, with the official opening night held on 10 September. The tour continues into November, with stops planned in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, and more.
The team will announce more casting and 2026 dates soon. For now, it’s just Maisie and Ed, and the reaction has already started. There is excitement, curiosity, and plenty of talk. After her one-episode return to Walford in 2022 for Keegan’s exit, Smith also starred in Strictly Ballroom: The Musical following her time on the dance show in 2018. Now, she is stepping into something darker, and fans are watching. For more EastEnders updates and celeb news, follow Soap Opera Daily.
