EastEnders actor Michael Keating has passed away. He was best known for his character as Villa in Blake’s 7. His fellow stars, producers and fans shared tributes on social media. They loved his character. Stay with us to find out more.

Michael Keating played the character of George Stevens. He appeared in 57 episodes. The character was part of the show between 2005 and 2017. Furthermore, he also made an appearance on Casualty and Midsomer Murders. He also appeared in a sci-fi series in which he played the character of Vila Restal.

Furthermore, Keatings was the character to appear in all four seasons of Blake’s 7, which ran between 1978 and 1981. The series was created by Terry Nation. However, now, Michael Keating has passed away. He died at the age of 79. The news of his death has shattered many people. Culture Edge’s X tribute read that they are sad to know that they have lost Miachel, who was a wonderful man. He will be hugely missed.

Meanwhile, a fan also posted on Twitter to bid farewell to Michael Keating. Blake’s 7 universe has lost another freedom fighter and star. As Villa, he brought lightness, fear, drama and humour to the character. Furthermore Audiobooks production company Big Finish also shared a message in the aftermath of Keating’s death. The tribute mentioned that Vila was something richer than comic relief. He was warm, wily and honest. 

Peter Angelina said that it was a joy to work with him. His cheerful presence on the studio days was most welcome. They said that they would sit back at the Audio Sorcery control room, laughing with the laughter at his comic timing in their recordings.

Furthermore, Keith Barnfather, who is the film producer at Reeltime Pictures, which produced Blake’s 7, remembered the EastEnders star. He said that Vila was his favourite character.
