EastEnders Star Receives Tax Refund
Adam Woodyatt has finally received clarity from the tax office after months. HMRC first claimed that the actor owed £139,000 in Corporation Tax. However, his accountants checked everything and then questioned the figure.
Also, according to reports, it showed that he had paid £99,518 instead. However, the liquidation document was filed at Companies House. And that confirmed the twist. HMRC later accepted the corrections. They agreed to repay 30,403.38 pounds along with interest. Moreover, the accountants also said that the tax office has closed the case, confirming no further claim.
Even the balance sheet revealed something else. The company still had more than £500,000 in cash when the liquidators stepped in. Adan Woodyatt and his ex-wife will now share a balance of £413,366. The two had started the company years ago. Hoping to bring in more actors, they created it as a talent agency. However, Adam became the only client.
Beverley planned his work and handled panto deals. She also used to manage the six-figure EastEnders income. However, when the couple split, the actor removed the firm’s website. Later, Adam moved to a London-based agency.
End Of Business Ventures
The former couple also tried a gin business together. The product received strong reviews from customers and experts. They even secured a deal with restaurants run by Marco Pierre White. However, the venture could make a proper income. Now, the management business is fully closed. Hence, Adam will receive a major payout from the remaining funds.
On the BBC soap, he plays Ian Beale. And currently Ian is running for the local council. The reason is that he wants to shut down Elaine’s Peacock Palace business. So in retaliation, even Elaine has launched a rival campaign against him.
Lately, Ian had hired Oscar for his campaign. However, he soon learnt that Elaine too had hired the teenager as a double agent. After which, Ian and Elaine both sacked Oscar for double-crossing. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
