Lauren and Mark found an unexpected spark this week after a disastrous business deal. Also, Lauren was left desperate to save her reputation after the incident. We are already aware of their history through Mark’s dodgy schemes and a stolen car plot. But now, a shared victory at the gym has forced the rivals to reconsider their partnership.
Lauren feels pressured as she doesn’t want to lose a massive bet with her dad, Max. If she sells a certain amount of stock, that would earn her half the business. Later, Alfie Moon’s friend Ray sold her a “heap of junk” vintage car. But soon Lauren realised that she had been scammed out of her investment.
Elsewhere, Mark was tasked by Phil Mitchell to handle the repairs. He confirmed that the vehicle was unsellable, leaving Lauren devastated. When Mark saw Lauren distressed, the mechanic took it upon himself to sort the problem. But Lauren insisted that she could fight her own battles.
Despite that, Mark organised a confrontation at the gym to demand a refund. However, the fraudster initially refused to pay. That’s when Mark stepped in with a bizarre defence. He even pretended to be Lauren’s boyfriend to pressure the businessman into returning the cash.
Mark Issues A Threat To Ray In EastEnders
The situation turned when Mark moved away from the greatest love story ever told routine. He then issues a direct threat against the scammer’s family. The mechanic mentioned that he knew where the man’s children went to school. That’s how Mark successfully forced him to return the money with a promise of a better car.
Later while celebrating at The Vic, the duo shared a tense but flirty exchange. Next, Mark joked about her being annoyed by his boyfriend act. However, Lauren shrugged it off. But for sure, she was guarded about his true intentions. In the evening, Mark offers to teach Lauren basic mechanics so she could spot a wrong ‘un a mile off.’
However, Lauren reacted, “Trust me, I can spot a wrong ‘un’.” Hence, it suggests that a business partnership might happen. But she hasn’t forgotten his criminal streak.
