Tony Comapres Studio Adrenaline With Frontline Emergency Rescues
Tony is well known for famously playing Tyler Moon. Now, the actor has a unique perspective on managing intense pressure. He recently reflected on the contrast between acting on set and tackling real-world emergencies.
And he explains, “The adrenaline’s still there. But with the fire brigade you don’t really have time to think about it. You are task-focused; you’ve got a job to do. You’re going in to put the fire out, rescue someone, or deal with whatever the situation is.”
Adding further he said, “With acting, you get time to think. You can process things more. The fire brigade is obviously a lot more intense in real terms, but the feelings are quite similar.”
Hence, this rigorous exposure has enhanced his creative capabilities. According to him, “When I was younger, it was harder to control, but now you learn to work with it. You don’t fight it anymore, you just use it.”
Public Recognition Follows The EastEnders Star On Duty
Operating as a real-life emergency responder means the star frequently encounters people who recognise him mid-rescue. Tony admitted that these surreal public interactions happen regularly.
He said, “Yeah all the time. I was at a job, and this girl came up to me, convinced I was filming something like London’s Burning. I tried to explain I was actually in the fire brigade, and she didn’t really believe me.”
Elsewhere, the actor still misses acting. He says acting is his passion and he misses the camaraderie on set. In fact, he is still open to a potential return to the soap. But for now, his current emergency service work keeps him grounded. Tony played Tyler Moon on the BBC soap. And he left the show way earlier than Shona. It happened after the breakdown of his on-screen engagement to Whitney.
