Away from EastEnders, legend Tracy-Ann Oberman faced chaos as she was left completely stuck at the airport this week after being banned from boarding a flight to Spain. The iconic actress thought that her passport was perfectly fine since it doesn’t expire until next year.
However, she ran straight into a confusing rule that caught her totally off guard. Now, she is turning to social media to warn other travellers before their holidays are ‘ruined’ too. Keep scrolling to learn more.
Tracy-Ann Oberman Was Refused Boarding On A Holiday Flight To Spain
The actress turned to social media for urgent help after she was stopped from travelling to Europe at the airport. Tracy-Ann wanted to fly to Spain, but the workers refused boarding because her identification document was ‘invalid’. Hence, she was completely struck and confused by the sudden travel issue before writing an alert to fans.
Well, the travel trouble started when she arrived at the airport on holiday. Taking to X she wrote, “Just tried boarding a flight to Spain. My passport runs out in June 2027. Was refused boarding because apparently it ran out in 2026, according to new European rules. Can anyone explain this to me? I’m not stuck. Check your passport, people. Who knew.”

Later, a presenter named Cristo Foufas tried to help online by writing, “You shouldn’t have been denied boarding as long as there’s 3 months left on your passport.” The presenter shared travel advice written by Simon Calder.
And it says that a passport must be issued less than 10 years ago on the day of entry and have at least 3 months left before the expiry date when leaving. The problem occurred because old rules allowed British people to roll over extra months. However, current rules do not count those extra months.
EastEnders Star Holds A Special Royal Honour For Charity Work
Away from the airport drama, the actress has a very famous television career. Tracy-Ann had first joined the BBC soap back in 2004. And she played Chrissie Watts for eighteen months.

Later, she again returned to play the character for another two years. Also, the performer works on many popular television programs and theatre plays across the country. She also spends a lot of time fighting against ‘racism’ and teaching people about history.
Because of these helpful actions the King officially handed the actress an MBE in 2025 for services to Holocaust education. For more EastEnders spoilers and updates keep following Soap Opera Daily.
