EastEnders features a powerful storyline next month as part of the BBC’s Caring Matters week. We will see Will Mitchell struggle to care for his sister Janet, while managing the household alone. Also, former soap star Natalie Cassidy will also be somewhat related to the plot. Keep scrolling to learn more.
EastEnders Will Do A National Collaboration For Awareness
The BBC will soon highlight the resilience of young unpaid carers next month. Also, it will be a part of the soap’s “Caring Matters” week. It will run from May 23 to May 30. Moreover, the initiative is to show the experience of unpaid carers across the country. Elsewhere, the loved Mitchell family will be at the centre of this powerful arc. And they will focus on Will Mitchell’s struggle to manage increasing domestic pressures.
We will see Will try to juggle taking care of his sister Janet while also supporting his family at home. Now, the teenager will be ‘responsible’ for taking care of his family. It’s because Honey is recovering from a recent injury. But for now, we are unaware of the specific cause of Honey’s condition.
She is already feeling vulnerable after her recent struggle with menopause symptoms. Next, to make things worse, Bea is unknowingly taking advantage of her. The newcomer even had an accumulating debut on a credit card opened in Honey’s name.
Bea is playing Honey to remain living under the Mitchell’s roof. Earlier, she also manipulated Will to extend her stay. She trashed her workplace and claimed that she was attacked. In fact, fans also worry that she is grooming Will to serve her own agenda. Elsewhere, for Will, we saw that teenager recording and uploading Nugget’s seizure video online. After which, Nugget even confronted him for doing wrong to him.
Natalie Cassidy: Caring Together
The BBC is partnering with major charities for this storyline. This also includes Mencap, Mind and Carers UK. Their goal is simple: They want to recognise, understand and support millions of people who provide unpaid assistance to their loved ones.
Through Will’s perspective, we will see the toll that caregiving can take on a young person. Also, a flagship eight-episode program titled Natalie Cassidy: Caring Together will follow the former Sonia Fowler icon. Elsewhere, the actress will study, train and work alongside care professionals at a top Health & Social Care college.
The vital question that the documentary will explore is: Who will care for our parents, our partners, our children…and who will care for us? For more EastEnders spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
