Last year, Bear was trapped in a modern-day slavery storyline. The drug dealers troubled the vulnerable old man. However, eventually, Ray killed Celia while Bear accidentally ended up murdering Ray.
Later, Paddy and Dylan hid his body in the back of the depot van. But Bear went to the police and told the truth. Later, Dylan and Paddy also told the truth to the police. They were charged with perverting the course of justice.
Meanwhile, this week the trial episode was aired. The courtroom scenes ended up putting Bear in trouble as Simo, who was also the drug dealers’ slave, said that Bear was given special treatment. However, in the end, the court gave two verdicts. They released Bear and Dylan, while Paddy received a 12-month suspended sentence to be served over two years.
Meanwhile, Bear opened up about modern-day slavery. He said that one is alone and someone else comes giving them a chance, while one is giving up on themselves, they want to be saved. Though they are kind, it is also confusing as they help and hurt at the same time. They begin to think that it could have been worse.
