The soap followers know that John Sugden shot Cain Dingle in the crossover episode. When he went to the hospital, he was shocked as the doctors informed him that he might have cancer. Then he found out that he had prostate cancer. The doctors also told him that he had to undergo surgery.
Meanwhile, in the latest episode, Sarah and Cain waited to meet the doctor in the hospital. The doctor told Cain that the cancer hasn’t spread outside the prostate gland. So, the treatment for him is a radical prostatectomy. Thus, a complete removal is required to cure.
The doctor informed him that it takes two hours. They use the keyhole surgery to remove the prostate, some of the surrounding tissue and the glands producing semen. Then he said that he wanted Sarah to remain present.
Cain Is Furious!
The doctor opened up about the risks and the possible side effects. Even for sexually active men, the treatment can change a man’s identity and masculinity.
Furthermore, the doctor told him to go to a clinic where men can discuss the issue. She said that he would initially be discharged with a catheter. Then he has to switch to incontinence pads. The doctor added that it is nothing to be ashamed of.
