Fans had been restlessly waiting for some updates on when she would return to the screen and what her next storyline would be. Unfortunately, the update they were waiting for served them a rude shock.
The latest Emmerdale spoilers reveal that the makers of the long-running soap have decided to kill off the iconic character. It is being said that Leyla’s exit storyline will be a meaty and dramatic one. However, the news has left the fans furious. They are finding it difficult to wrap their head around the fact the soap sidelined Leyl Harding for months, and are now bringing her back just to kill her off.
“Genuinely gutted about this one,” a disappointed fan penned their opinion online. “She’s been heavily sidelined and forgotten about so may as well kill her off. Shame though as I liked her in her early years,” another fan furiously added. However, another ardent viewer theorized that Leyla is in a rather unfortunate position of not having any familial links on the soap anymore.
A source close to Roxy Shahidi claimed that she has adored her time on the soap and has made so many happy memories since first joining when she was 17. They added that the entire cast and crew of the soap have become like family to her. Thus, all she has for the soap is love and adoration.
Furthermore, the source added that Roxy is really excited about her upcoming meaty exit storyline. “She’d rather go out in a blaze of glory and be remembered,” they signed off. Even though the actress is excited about her exit storyline, her fans have expressed very polarizing sentiments. We really hope that Roxy gets a smashing exit as Leyla. Something that fans won’t forget so easily.
