The soap fans know that Victoria killed John Sugden in the crossover episode. However, Joe Tate recorded her killing the media. He used the footage to blackmail the Sugdens. Joe told Robert to plant a device at Celia’s place, which led to her arrest as the police thought her to be involved in human trafficking. Meanwhile, Robert had no other choice as Joe would have reported Victoria to the police.
Joe blackmailed the siblings to get the Butler’s farm. But Moira stood firm. She said that she wasn’t going to sign over her share. But when the news of Cain’s prostate cancer was out, Moira sold the farm to the Tates. Then Joe made Robert the tenant farmer. He renamed the land Emmerdale Farm.
Meanwhile, now, Moira is out of prison and is finding it difficult to adjust to the new life at Wishing Well Cottage. She has been spending days helping Robert so that she can resume her normal life.

In today’s episode, Moira was upset as Cain had missed her birthday. She went back to Emmerdale Farm and offered help to Robert, who denied her help. He said that he had a belated birthday gift. He gave her three framed photos of the old Butler’s land that he had found in the attic. Then Robert told her that he wanted to make her some food.
However, Moira was dubious and asked Robert to disclose everything. Robert told her how he had to plant passports at her home, which led to her arrest. Moira was shocked. When she learned that Victoria was being blackmailed, she left and tried to tell Cain. However, Cain had a minor argument with Sam and didn’t want to talk.
This gave Robert some time to stop Moira from going to the police. Moira said that she considered Victoria as her daughter, so she wouldn’t implicate her.
