“Thanks for keeping quiet about us,” the text read. “I couldn’t cope without you.” On further contemplation, the text hits home with April’s accusation that Marlon is cheating on Rhona with Laurel. However, Marlon had previously denied the accusation. Yet, he pleaded with the liaison officer working on April’s case not to tell Rhona. When Jacob Gallagher told Marlon earlier in the episode that his missing daughter April had been admitted to the hospital, Marlon became upset.
