Robert Sugden returned to the village for John and Aaron’s wedding. He told Aaron that he was making a mistake. They even kissed on their wedding day. But Aaron Dingle chose the killer, John and married him. Meanwhile, the police arrested Robert Sugden for breaking the law.
After asking Aaron to visit him, he refused, so Robert Sugden shocked everyone as he came back to the village again. He went to the couple’s apartment and told them that he wanted to spend time with them. However, Aaron kicked him out, but he told him that he would be meeting them more.
Victoria Sugden suffered a black eye due to Robert Sugden. In the upcoming episodes, he feels guilty and wants to move out of her house, as his prison trauma makes him do this. However, Victoria gets concerned for her brother. Meanwhile, when John Sugden tells Victoria Sugden to report Robert to the police, he gets anxious that he will have to go to prison again.

Then Robert decides to do some work, so he grabs a trial run at the depot. But things turn dark when John Sugden interferes again. He tells Caleb Miligan to fire Robert Sugden. Caleb Miligan fires him by making an excuse. However, Robert soon learns due to Jai’s slip of tongue that John Sugden is responsible for this. When Robert asks Aaron to help him, he refuses.
To cope with all this, Robert starts drinking and resorts to hookups. However, things take a turn as one of his dates drugs him.
