He didn’t tell him because Aaron wouldn’t have been able to move on. In 2020, Aaron began a relationship with HOP worker Ben Tucker. But Meena Julta murdered him. Then Aaron left the village to see Adam Barton in Italy.
However, in 2023, Cain kidnapped Aaron from Italy. This happened after Adam told him that he was in trouble with some criminals. However, Aaron changed when Chas was diagnosed with cancer. However, later he was in a relationship with John Sugden. He felt that he could love someone other than Robert. However, this year, Robert came back from prison.

In the latest episode, the soap fans learned that Robert was attacked in prison. But his cell mate Kev helped him. However, they were soon in a relationship. But when Kev found out that Robert was planning to appeal his sentence, he got anxious at the idea of losing him. Kev ended up stabbing himself. Things got more complicated when Liam accidentally told Kev that his husband had been lying to him. Robert told Kev that he was being released from prison as his sister, Victoria, has a brain tumour.
He lied because he didn’t want to reveal that he wanted to reunite with Aaron. Meanwhile, Liam didn’t confirm that Robert had lied, but the look on his face was enough for Kev.
