Emmerdale Star Beth Cordingly Reveals The REAL REASON Why Ruby Is Lying To Caleb

The latest Emmerdale episodes revealed the truth about Ruby’s relationship with her abusive father Anthony. She admitted to Chas that she was sexually abused as a teenager. She even went on to add that fears her abuser could be her daughter’s father. Even though Ruby did not specifically told Chas that the man she is talking about is her father, she did tell her that Caleb may not be Steph’s father.

After hearing about the whole ordeal, Chas encouraged Ruby to tell Caleb the truth. She tried to tell Ruby that Caleb would understand. Unfortunately, Ruby has her own set of fears. Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly recently told the media that many fans have been asking her why exactly is she hiding the truth from her husband. She explained that Ruby believes that Caleb has already rescued her by taking her away from her dad.

Ruby thinks there is a certain purity in her relationship with Caleb, and she doesn’t want to taint it by telling him the truth. Beth also pointed that Ruby feels a lot of “shame and guilt” over the horrific things that happened to her. Perhaps that is what has been stopping her from being forthcoming with Caleb. “She doesn’t want him to see her as a victim,” Beth explained. Ruby likes being the tough person Caleb thinks she is.

Ruby Is Awaiting The DNA Results

Beth shared that Ruby is prepared to take the secret with her to the grave. But can she really keep the truth hidden forever. What will happen when the DNA results come out? Will she bury them, too?  “She’s so fierce about wanting to protect Steph from the knowledge. She doesn’t want anyone to ever know that there’s a chance that her dad has fathered her child,” the actress explained.

So, it seems that no matter what the DNA results prove, Ruby is prepared to keep her silence. However, we have a feeling that life may have other plans.
