“Laurel is really freaked out,” reveals Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy. While talking to the media about her character, Laurel Thomas, and her ongoing track, Charlotte teased that a major drama is about to erupt in Dales, and it is poised to leave Laurel absolutely stumped. The shocking sequence is woven around her son, Arthur, and his love life.
Emmerdale spoilers reveal that in the upcoming episodes, Laurel Thomas gives into her heightened feelings for Charles, and ends up hooking up with him. Unfortunately, her son Arthur walks in and catches them in a compromising position. But Laurel manages to convince Arthur to keep the hookup a secret. The young lad agrees because quite honestly he’s already occupied with the complications in his own life.
Later, Arthus shifts his focus from his mother to his own love life and tries to make April Windsor jealous by boasting about his brilliant romantic life. He lies to her about how he hooked up with newcomer John Sugden, the older but absolutely gorgeous man. However, Laurel overhears Arthur’s claims and believes that her son must be telling the truth.
The spoilers reveal that next week a furious Laurel storms over to John and confronts him for having slept with her son. But in reality, Arthur is lying, and John has shown no interest in the underage boy. So, the truth will come out sooner than later. Speaking about the confrontation between Laurel and John, Charlotte pointed that her character immediately went into protective mode because she thought John could be taking advantage of Arthur.
“It’s really about Arthur’s insecurity, about wanting to be cool and experienced as a young gay man, rather than being seen as a novice,” Charlotte added. Furthermore, the actress shared that even though Laurel is shocked to know that her son lied and that she made a fool of herself in front of John, she still will be supportive of her son because she understands his situation.
Unfortunately, Laurel’s problems won’t be limited to just being mortified in front of John. When she confronts Arthur about his lies in the presence of her estranged husband, Jai Sharma, a hassled Arthur accidentally blurts out what he saw transpire between her and Charles. Jai will of course be stunned to know that his wife is already moving on with a new man.
