Emmerdale spoilers for the entire year prove how difficult 2024 has been for Belle Dingle. However, it seems that the year won’t close off on a bad note for our beloved character. Christmas Day is set to bring a whole lot of joy for her in the form of an unexpected reunion. It will be nothing short of a miracle when Belle looks up from her father’s grave and sees her pup, Piper, running towards her.
For the unversed, Belle’s abusive husband, Tom King, had faked Piper’s death and secretly gave the dog away to another family. However, in a run-up to Christmas, Belle confides in Vinny that she feels Tom was lying about Piper’s death. She recalled that she never actually saw Piper’s body before the burial. She convinces Vinny to dig up Piper’s coffin, only to discover that it indeed is empty.
It’s A Christmas Miracle!
On Christmas Day, Belle goes to visit her father’s grave, which is the first Christmas since Zak passed. In a surprising turn of events, she looks up to see Piper running towards her. It is revealed that moved by Belle’s emotions, Vinny and his girlfriend set out to find Piper. The couple managed to track down the new family, and brought Piper back to be reunited with Belle.
“It was so cute and really nice, especially it being Christmas – I think it was lovely and it felt like a real treat. For Belle it’s obviously huge,” a thrilled Eden Taylor-Draper told the media. Furthermore, she admitted that she wasn’t sure if Minnie (Piper) would ever return to the soap. “I didn’t know! It was only probably two or three months ago that I got told she is coming back at Christmas,” she quipped.
