James Hooton plays Sam Dingle in the soap. He has been a part of many interesting storylines. Sam Dingle arrived in the soap after being released from the Young Offenders Institute.

The character is the son of Zak Dingle and the father of Samson Dingle. Furthermore, Sam has been a part of many romantic relationships. He also had a failed marriage to Alice, who died from cancer.

Sam has faced several challenges, including imprisonment for petty crimes and injuries during the 2022 cow stampede incident. Meanwhile, the character has been a part of several family tensions.

Elsewhere, away from the show, James has been engaged to dance company owner, Nancy Lucas, since 2010, after they became engaged on Valentine’s Day. The couple also share two children, Ava-Rose and Lily. 

James Hooton Is Proud Of His Daughter!

Recently, James shared a family update as his daughter prepared to go travelling. The star uploaded a selfie with his family. He wrote in the caption that it was the last family breakfast before Lily went travelling. James added that 78 nights away and countless countries to be visited. He said that he has mixed emotions, but he is proud of her as she funded it all herself. 

Meanwhile, a fan wrote that she will have the best time that will change her life. Another fan wrote that his daughter went travelling in her gap year, and it was the best thing. They added that she experienced so much, and as a parent, it was amazing to see her. Other followers wished Lily a safe journey. 

The family update comes just days after James marked what would have been his late father’s 84th birthday. He shared pictures of his father on Instagram. James wrote in the caption that it would have been his father’s 84th birthday. He was known as Toots and was a true Dingle in many ways. In 1994, when he first heard that he had got a job on Emmerdale, he was working with him in Leicester selling handkerchiefs. He added that his father loved him.
