Jay Kontzle Was A Part Of The Band
The actor Jay Kontzle joined Emmerdale as Billy Fletcher in 2018. He started his career on ITV’s show Britain’s Got Talent. He was a member of a boy band, The Mend. Nigel Martin-Smith formed the band in 2008. He used to manage Take That before this. They also auditioned for The X Factor in 2011 but were asked to leave as they already had a manager.
However, in 2012, they returned with Simon Cowell in Britain’s Got Talent after being picked as the judges’ Wild Card Act. They reached the final and grabbed the 7th position in the show. After that, the band supported Little Mix on their DNA tour in 2013. However, the band separated in 2015, losing their fan base.
The actor, Jay Kontzle who was part of the band has always shared his experiences. He shared that being a part of The Mend described it as one of the best experiences of his life. The actor said that he gained a lot of experience by being a part of the tour and performing live on television. However, as they grew older they realised that as a band for teenagers they can’t keep changing.

He added the best thing was the details he got about the industry and working with the top notch people like Simon Cowell. However, the business part just displeased him. He said that it was an experience that he doesn’t want to share as he has moved on.
