Jonny McPherson, who plays the character of Liam Cavanagh, made an appearance on ITV1’s Lorraine. He spoke about how his character has avoided his health issues. The soap fans are aware that he had some embarrassing moments in the previous episodes. They later found out that he might be dealing with a serious disease, as he got a prostate test done. The actor said that his character is fearful as the Dingles already have a genetic cancer issue, and doesn’t want to create unnecessary stress.
He added that this generation is very poor at sorting out things. Being a doctor, he tells everyone to get a check-up done in case of the slightest issue. He added that, being a doctor, he might have guessed the possibility. Jonny added that the men have a tendency to think that everything will be alright. Furthermore, the soap star added that if someone who watches the show has the same problem and is trying to take action, then the soap has done a great job. They are trying to raise awareness through the plot.

Meanwhile, the soap has been keeping the fans on tenterhooks as their favourite character is struggling. He faced two embarrassing moments when Claudette caught him urinating at the allotment, while Manpreet caught him peeing in the surgery sink. They both were shocked, but the doctor told them he had been having bladder problems. They both pressured him to get the tests done.
Though he tried to ignore his problem, he was finally convinced to get the check-up done. His symptoms were alarming, so a prostate test was necessary. In the upcoming episodes, the doctor receives the test results and is afraid to open them. He is concerned about how a serious diagnosis will impact his relationship with Chas, as he has seen patients’ relationships being impacted. Though he tried to hide everything from Chas, he finally told her that he might have cancer. Chas has been busy due to other villagers, but next week, she stands with her husband to reveal the results.
Chas has been dealing with many other things, including Aaron’s time in the hospital and Charity’s baby drama. However, despite all this, she is with her fiancée. The fans will be sad if Chas and Liam don’t have a happy ending, as they have been through a lot. The upcoming episodes will reveal Liam’s condition.
