Emmerdale viewers are set to see Gabby Thomas in one of her toughest storylines yet. Actress Rosie Bentham has shared new details about the emotional plot and said it is something that has never been shown in a soap before.

Rosie Bentham Teases Gabby’s Emotional New Story
Back in May, Emmerdale confirmed that Gabby Thomas would be getting a major new storyline. The story will focus on Gabby becoming obsessed with healthy eating. What starts as a simple plan to improve her health will slowly become much more serious.
Speaking to The Sun at the TRIC Awards, Rosie said she is excited to take on the challenging storyline. She said: “Gabby has a story coming up with lots of things going on, it’s heartbreaking but also so exciting to cover something that’s never been covered in soap before.”
Rosie also explained why she thinks the storyline will stand out. She said: “This is Gabby’s story and, like I said, something that’s never ever been touched on in soap before. It’s so relevant today with social media and everything that’s going on. I think people that don’t even watch soaps normally are going to want to tune in because it’s so unique and really going to hit home for a lot of viewers.”
Emmerdale: Why Gabby Reaches Breaking Point
Gabby has had a difficult time over the past few years. Her marriage to Vinny Dingle ended, Nicky Miligan betrayed her, and Ross Barton rejected her. After so much heartbreak, she tries to take back control of her life.
Earlier this year, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw revealed that Gabby’s healthy eating plan slowly turns into a dangerous obsession. What begins as a positive lifestyle change becomes much darker as the story continues.
Rosie spoke about getting into Gabby’s mindset while filming. She said: “You have to get in the zone and really put yourself in the character’s position. And Gabby’s position has been quite tough recently, she’s been heartbroken and just rejected by loads of men. So now she’s taking control of her life, but how far is too far with that kind of thing?”
