EastEnders Star Cheryl Fergison has finally managed to bag a new gig over a decade later after leaving Albert Square. Viewers of the BBC programme know that the actress who portrayed the role of Heather Trott was axed from the soap twelve years ago.

Heather Trott Actress Cheryl Bags A New Role!
Cheryl Fergison is thrilled about her latest role in this year’s pantomime production of Cinderella at The Cresset Theatre. She will be taking over the part as the Fairy Godmother during the festive season from December 14 to 31.
Fergison’s character, Heather Trott, was a beloved one until she was killed off in 2012. Long-time fans of the BBC soap were heartbroken when Heather was murdered to death by notorious Ben Mitchell.
Along with the fans, Cheryl also didn’t wish to leave the show but this decision was made by EastEnders bosses. This came after the actress later alluded to the fact that it was not her decision to leave the UK soap.
While speaking to The Sun about her sudden departure, a source said, “Heather’s character has been hugely popular over the years, but the decision has been taken to cut her out of the show before viewers tire of her.”
The Walford icon had to take singing lessons on Zoom to get by her regular expenses. She also dabbled in helping aspiring actors kick off their careers. It seems like the actress was struggling financially after her character was axed from the drama series.

In 2023, the star once voiced her frustration with the BBC after she was allegedly not invited to be a part of Get Britain Singing’s Christmas instalment. After going through so many ups and downs, the former EastEnders legend has landed a new role, and she is flabbergasted about it.
