FIVE-DAY FREEZE! Beyond the Gates Fans Left Hanging After Thanksgiving Shutdown

By Roy

With Thanksgiving week finally here, Beyond the Gates fans are once again watching the schedule as closely as they watch the Duprees. After Tuesday’s tense cliffhanger left several relationships and power plays hanging in the balance, viewers naturally want to know whether the holiday will interrupt the show’s momentum and how long they’ll have to wait before the next chapter unfolds.

Beyond the Gates Faces a Three-Day Pause

CBS’s newest daytime soap continues to build its audience with layered family tensions, romantic missteps, and political manoeuvring inside Maryland’s most exclusive community. That’s exactly why this week’s timing has fans on edge. Recent episodes ramped up the drama, with the Dupree family navigating betrayals, shifting alliances, and the fallout from choices that could reshape the entire neighbourhood. Tuesday’s cliffhanger only intensified curiosity about what happens next.

BTG/ Schedule gaps in the soap

But just as the stakes rise, the Thanksgiving schedule brings a sudden halt. Beyond the Gates will air reruns on Wednesday and Thursday, giving fans another chance to revisit earlier turns in the story, including the emotional beats that led straight into the latest twist. Then, on Friday, the soap will be fully preempted. That means a rare five-day wait before viewers discover how the Duprees deal with the escalating tension.

Other Soaps Adjust for the Holiday

While Beyond the Gates takes its three-day pause, the rest of daytime dramas are adjusting their schedules too, though most get shorter breaks. ABC’s General Hospital won’t air new episodes on Thursday or Friday, with the network clearing both days for sports. Even online catch-up options like ABC.com or Hulu won’t offer new content, since nothing will broadcast on television.

Over on CBS, The Young and the Restless will also skip fresh episodes, but fans of Danny and Christine will get a nostalgic surprise. The network will re-air their November 16, 1990, Hawaiian wedding on Thanksgiving before pivoting to full sports coverage on Friday. Meanwhile, The Bold and the Beautiful takes a similar approach: no new instalments on either day, but an encore of the October 27, 2023, fashion showdown between Eric and Ridge will air Thursday, complete with cameos from Marie Osmond and Y&R favourites Kate Linder and Tracey E. Bregman.

And while other soaps navigate the holiday shuffle, Days of Our Lives remains the exception. Because it streams exclusively on Peacock, it avoids preemptions entirely, offering new episodes on both Thursday and Friday as Salem residents gather for their own Thanksgiving celebrations. Viewers can tune in whenever it suits their holiday plans. For more such Beyond The Gates updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily!
